Since late last year, I have been reading a lot of self-improvement books/article as a tool to overcome the so-called quarter life crisis and I stumbled upon this popular career book called 'What Color is Your Parachute'. It is hugely popular that it is published every year with new and updated contents. One of the tips from the book is keeping a blog and I am doing exactly that from now on.
I also intend to be an English teacher soon and from the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course that I am taking now, a good English teacher is a teacher who keeps up-to-date with recent news and story and hence, I will start reading and writing fresh contents here, especially from major news outlets, magazines and books.
I am planning to start writing about my recent 6 months trip to Taiwan, in which I haven't properly documented it online. Surely there are many blogs and postings about Taiwan in general as a tourist, but I am willing to bet there are not many that mention about living in Taiwan and studying Chinese, specifically as a Muslim.
It took me almost 2 months to take the courage to start writing again after almost 4 years since my last post here. Besides Taiwan, I will also document my journey in the beautiful country of Viet Nam, in which would be my next destination in a week time. I reckon there are quite a number of people who has been sharing about their journey in Viet Nam as an English teacher, but not a Muslim English teacher.
By now you would have guessed that I am a practicing Muslim which is absolutely correct. I will dedicate myself to write at least once a week here, not for the sake of publicity but rather to improve myself and hopefully this little blog would be helpful to everyone. It's a long shot but I hope to write a post in Chinese one day!
